The Reader by Aja
So, if you have a few minutes to have your soul torn out and gently, quietly replaced, you should read this story. Or, to quote the author’s summary “Death. War. Poetry. Love.” Harry Potter fanfiction, circa 2003 written between the Order of the Pheonix and The Half Blood Prince. Possibly my favorite piece of wartime literature to date.
