Bruce Banner/Tony Stark My personal OTP, but I happily read outside of it as well. Gotta love the science bros… ^^

Author summary: Tony calls him “Jolly Green” and “King Kong,” but he looks more wary than usual, and when Bruce figures it out he’s mortified. Setting aside for a moment the fact that Tony’s a terrible Ann Darrow, there’s also the little thing where normal people don’t kidnap their friends and drag them into craters in the middle of nowhere.
But Bruce has never been normal– just really good at running.
–This is exquisite in a Rushmore “I can’t tell my children apart anymore” sort of destructive, awful, way.
Breathing in Obera by argle_fraster: Tony stops, which is somewhat rare, and looks up. “Aren’t you going to sit? I’m talking, and this time, it’s about something important.” “It’s always about something important,” Bruce says, absently. “I knew that,” Tony replies, with one corner of his mouth quirking upwards, “but I didn’t think that you did.”
Got me rambling and stumbling over what I say by carnival papers: Author summary: “This conversation is gonna get masturbatory if we keep going down that path, but—but you get it. And I get it. And what I’m trying to say is that we’re the same damn person. Metaphorically.”
Irreconcilable Differences by determamfidd: Author summary- Featuring: Hulk – Amateur Psychology Hour with Tony Stark – Clint as a troll – more Hulk – Bruce as an angry introspective mess – Hulk again – Steve as Team Dad – Nick Fury as Nick Fury – Hulk smash! – Tony as a caped crusader for Hulk Rights – Rules, Rules, Rules – Natasha as the boss of everything – the Experimental Method (by T. Hulk). Obviously, it must be read.
Ode to broken things by yugimutos: It’s strange because they don’t even really fuck and read poetry all that often. It’s just when they do, it’s like a sun exploding between them, and Tony can feel every atom in his body reacting and he loves to watch Bruce’s mouth move around words that taste like earth and fruit and sweat.
Pygmalion Avenged by CharityLambkin: D/s One I return to again and again. Beautiful slow build relationship fic with well rendered D/s interactions.
Vast and Shaking Things by icarus_chained. This story is the first in the marvelous Deus ex series, and is a study in loyalty, consequences and ethics. Fascinating perspective on JARVIS, and marvelous Stark and Banner dialogue. One of my all-time favorites.
When you love somebody and bite your tongue all you get is a mouthful of blood by yugimutos: Author summary: “I wanted you to stay and you didn’t. You took off, but you took the time to keep me posted. Call me sentimental.” Bruce snorts. “No one calls you that and gets away with it.” “Well…you could.”
Good boy by leashy_bebes: Author’s summary- It takes Bruce a lot longer than it should to work it out. [puppy play]
Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Homefront by copperbadge: Author summary: Steve Rogers is a capable leader, a kind and cheerful man, a good friend, a strong role model, and a loyal soldier. He’s also teetering on the edge of suicide.
In which Tony Stark builds himself some friends (But his family was assigned by Nick Fury) by scifigrl147: (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark & other pairings) This is a series also referred to as the Toasterverse. It’s everything you want and more in team fic and general awesomeness.
There are many names in history (none of them are ours) by aubkae: (Tony Stark/Steve Rogers) Alright, new fic writing protocol- title your story on a derivative of this and whatever comes out will be excellent. This story is worth your time because it has a nuanced and interesting characterization of Steve, gives proper attention to the Avenger’s insomnia club which unofficially seems to be in fanon at large, and sneakily hot sex scenes.
Tales of the Bots series by scifigrl147: Epic length sci-fi of the highest quality. In which Dummy wants to follow his Primary Protocol, Jarvis is exasperated and Tony is difficult to keep safe. Eventual Stark/Rogers. Mostly a lot of emotions about the bots. It’s awesome.
Other pairings. All of the other pairings.
The Proper Care and Feeding of Undefinable Things series by websandwhiskers: (Bruce Banner/Natasha Romanova) Starting with a couple of well-done Darcy POV pieces, this series develops a fantastic dynamic between Bruce and Natasha with careful characterization and deft insight. Don’t forget the snark. There’s a lot of snark.
All my life I wasn’t trying to get on a highway, I was wondering where to go by TardisIsTheOnlyWayToTravel. (Phil Coulson/JARVIS) Author Summary: Four months after moving into the renamed Avengers Tower, Phil was halfway through an animated discussion with JARVIS about the merits of the Star Wars prequels vs. the original trilogy when he thought, my God, I’ve fallen in love with a goddamned AI.
The melancholy haphazard of facts by weatheredlaw. (Steve Rogers/Bruce Banner): Steve meets Bruce in California. This fic is beautiful and quiet and a bit devastating.
Figure Drawing by thingswithwings. (Steve Rogers/Bruce Banner) Author’s summary: When he gets back to New York, Steve only lasts five days living in Williamsburg before he packs up again and heads, shamefaced, to Stark Tower. The people are nice enough, but they’re a kind of rich that Steve doesn’t know how to deal with, and the neighborhood is crowded and strange, with too many eyes on him all the time.
All Dimensions of Life by sinuous_curve. (Clint Barton/Bruce Banner) [kink- watersports]. Author’s summary: For about three months after Columbia, Clint more or less backed off the whole thing. Not that it was even really a thing at that point, more an idea sitting in the back of his brain. A sense, maybe, that he’d stumbled across something with more significance than he’d intended.
The Armed and Dangerous series by AlchemyAlice. (Stark/Barnes/[eventual] Rogers): Author’s summary: Bucky wakes up. Tony takes a liking to him. Steve frowns a lot. Also, there is some Avenging going on. And tech porn. That summary doesn’t really do the fic justice. Go read!
Alternate Universe Fic
I’ve Suffered Shipwrecks by paperclipbitch: The deeply satisfying coffee-shop AU we’ve all been waiting for complete with a complete lack of attention to the usual pairing tropes. Barton-centric. It’s glorious.
There are many names in history (and all of them are ours) by pprfaith. (Tony Stark/Natasha Romanova) Author summary: Russia is born in the wake of a falling wall. America rises from the ashes of war. Tony and Natasha just try to make it. This is uniquely lovely and evocative.
